FAQ About Our Onsite Classes

Tracey Fridley, Software Instructor

Location

All on-site computer classes are on-site and held at your business location for your convenience.  We can use your conference room, lunch room, an empty office, or even your desk is fine too.

If you'd prefer, we can arrange a meeting room at another local location.

Length of Classes

Most classes are scheduled as a 6-hour or 3-hour day.  Feel free to customize your classes to work around your schedule.

Class Topics

Standard 6-Hour or 3-Hour Classes.  You may choose any 6-hour Introduction, Intermediate, and Advanced class and leave the class as outlined in the courseware.  See the Class Catalog for a list of classes with outlines.

Choose Your Chapters.  Another option is to customize your class by picking and choosing the chapters you want.  Generally, each chapter is about an hour so picking any 6 chapters will usually give you the full 6-hour class.  See the Course Catalog for a list of classes with outlines.

Consulting & Software Support.  Have a computer project that you need some help with?  We'd be happy to hold your hand and help you through the setup process.  Maybe it's helping you create mailing labels, setting up some calculations in Excel, a presentation for a particular event in PowerPoint, help with organizing your files and folders in Windows, or just some basic question and answer sessions.  Think of a computer project that needs being done and I'm sure we can help you get started.

Access Database ConsultingWe’d love to help you with your Access database.  We can help you create it from scratch or help you revise the database you already have.  Grab your list of questions and we'll be right over to help.

Class Dates

We generally schedule out a week or more in advance to allow for ordering your courseware.  We're available any day of the week including weekends.  Just a pick some dates that work for you and we'll check our calendar too.

Class Times

Class times are very flexible.  A 6-hour class can be scheduled as one 6-hour day, or two 3-hour sessions scheduled over two days.

Generally classes are scheduled 9am to 4pm with an hour off for lunch, or broken down into 3-hour segments from 9am to noon, or 1pm to 4pm.  Evening classes are usually 6pm to 9pm and run over two nights.  Again, we're flexible with the times, so let us know what works for you.

Number of Students

The minimum number of students is one for a one-on-one training session.    The Computer Help Button has enough laptops for up to 12 students.  The maximum recommended number of students is 12 if your business provides equipment.

One-On-One Computer Classes.  Enjoy learning on your computer with that extra individual attention to help you learn your computer at your pace.  Software questions and problems are welcome.

Group Computer Classes.  From two to twelve students, learn the software topics of your choice and have the class at the convenience of your business site.

Software Version

We offer training in various software versions.  Let us know which software version you have when scheduling your class.  Microsoft classes are available in Microsoft Office 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002, 2000, and 97.

Contact us if you need help discovering which software version you have.

Equipment

We can use your equipment, or our portable training lab which includes 12 laptops and digital projector.

Payment Method

Payment may be made by cash or check.  Advance payment is necessary to hold your class dates.  Invoicing is available for businesses only upon request.  See the Pricing page for specific pricing numbers.

Workbooks Student workbooks may be purchased for class use and reference, or self-study purposes.

Travel.  Travel expenses are included for classes that are 60 minutes or more from East Troy, Wisconsin.  Travel expenses will apply outside this area at the current IRS mileage rate.
