Access 2000 Overview

Objective:
Learn the fundamentals of Access 2000, including a general introduction to databases, tables, queries, and reports.

Prerequisite Skills:
Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description:
If you're in charge of managing a process that has you scrambling to find and update information from a variety of places, Access could make your job easier. In Access, you can create a database to collect a wide range of information related to a particular subject or purpose, such as planning an event, managing expenses, or tracking inventory. You can then manage all of the information from a single file so that you have to update it in only one place.

This course provides a general overview of how you can use Access to organize, analyze, and present your data.

Access 2000 Getting Started with Databases and Tables

Objective:
Learn to create an Access database and design and modify the table component.

Prerequisite Skills:
Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description:
Do you need to learn how to plan a database, determine what information to include in the database, and decide how that information should be organized? Do you know what you need to include in your database but aren't sure how to create it?

Objective:
Learn to create more advanced tables and apply various functions such as searching, customizing data properties, defining relationships, enforcing referential integrity, working with subdatasheets, importing, and linking.

Comfortable creating Access databases and simple tables.

Access 2000 Queries I: Creating Select Queries

Objective:
Learn to sort and filter records, create simple queries, modify queries, create multiple-table queries, and apply simple calculations to queries.

Objective:
Learn to create and modify forms using AutoForm, the Form Wizard, and Design View.

Access 2000 Enhancing Forms

Objective:

Access 2000 Working with Reports

Objective:
Learn the basics of viewing and generating reports using the Report Wizard. Also learn to modify, enhance, sort, and group report data.
